How to configure linux server and
other windows base computers in the Local Area Network
01. On Windows
Operating System
a.
Set the IP Address
Right click on the
network icon on the task bar
or
Controle pannel
"Connect to network"
àclick
on "open network and sharing center"
02. Click on the wire or wireless network connection
03. Click on the properties button
04. Select" Internet protocol version(TCP/IPv4)
"

05. Give IP Address and Subnet Mask and Default
gateway(you can give different ip address from others don’t give same ip with
other one )

06. Write Down the IP settings(this settings will
use for the linux operating system)
07. Insert the given Linux Bootable DVD to the DVD
Rom
08. Restart the computer
09. Press relevant key to set boot sequence
a.
Example F12 key/delete/F1 ..etc

Select Boot from DVD Rom

Select Start H2B Light

On the Linux desktop task bar ----à Right click on the network
Icon
a.
Click on the Enable networking and Enable
notification
b.
Click on the Edit connection

Select IPv4 Setting Tab

Select method as "Manuel "15.
Click add

Type Address(192.168.1.3), Netmask(255.255.255.0),
Gateway(192.168.1.1) or ()
Linux server is ok for the local area

Configure hosts file of other computers
in the local area network(this settings
for linked computers in the local area network)

type IP Address(Linux server machine IP
Address) and keep tab space and type exam.local

Open the web browser of windows operating system
and type the URL and login with your
given usernames and passwords
